Trucks like the Toyota Tundra and Ford F-150 are designed to be as capable and comfortable on a trail as they are in your neighborhood. So, which one has all the features you need in your next truck?

To help drivers near Ithaca, Corning, and Binghamton decide, Maguire Toyota looks at what each one can do for you in this Toyota Tundra vs. Ford F-150 comparison.

Toyota Tundra vs Ford F-150 Interior

The 2019 Toyota Tundra has a comfortable interior that can seat up to six people, and there are two cabs available. Both the Double Cab and the CrewMax have a second row of seats and can be fitted with either cloth or leather upholstery.

For extra convenience, you can flip the back seats up to store cargo inside. If you want to get some fresh air or need to grab something from the truck bed, the CrewMax comes with a standard Power Vertical Window.

The 2019 Ford F-150 offers three cabs, but the Regular Cab doesn't have a second row of seats. It only has room for up to three people and doesn't have extra cabin space for cargo. Plus, while it offers a power rear window, it isn't available until the higher trim levels.

Toyota Tundra vs Ford F-150 Infotainment System

The 2019 Toyota Tundra features technology for everything from helping you stay connected to delivering the best playlist for your drive.

The base trim has a standard 6.1-inch touchscreen in the dashboard for the Entune™ Audio system. It's Bluetooth® compatible, so you can connect your phone to listen to your favorite music or podcasts or take hands-free phone calls.

It's also equipped with both advanced voice recognition and Siri® Eyes Free. That gives you the ability to place a call, change songs, or switch between apps and features without taking your eyes off the road or your hands off the wheel.

The 2019 Ford F-150 also has a Bluetooth® compatible infotainment system with voice recognition. However, it's a little harder to use. Also, the SYNC® doesn't have a standard touchscreen. It comes with a standard 4.2-inch LCD screen that has a lower resolution.

Toyota Tundra vs Ford F-150 Safety

Whether you're driving across tough terrain or running errands around town, you can count on the 2019 Toyota Tundra to give you peace of mind with two standard safety systems.

The Star Safety System™ gives you a dependable drive with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), and Smart Stop Technology® (SST). Meanwhile, Toyota Safety Sense™ P (TSS-P) gives you more awareness and prevents accidents with driver-assistance features like:

  • Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)
  • Lane Departure Alert with Sway Warning System
  • Automatic High Beams
  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/ PD)

The 2019 Ford F-150 offers a stable drive and several driver-assistance features, but it doesn't make any of them standard on every trim level like Toyota Safety Sense™ P (TSS-P).

The Toyota Tundra also has eight airbags, so you'll be protected even if an accident occurs. The F-150 only has six airbags.
